Pang Yongjie（庞永杰），born in 1968 in Heze, Shandong, graduated from Shandong Normal University and later studied at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Currently residing in Beijing, Pang is a professional Chinese contemporary artist, known for his profound philosophical thinking and exceptional independence in his art, which has earned him recognition both in China and internationally.
Pang Yongjie views art as a form of religion and a medium for exploration and self-awareness. His artistic practice is marked by compassion for humanity, extraordinary insight, and a sincere, unwavering confidence that refuses to conform to the market. Since the 1990s, in the midst of the clash between Eastern and Western cultures and the material-driven realities of the commercial era, Pang has sought to reconnect with traditional cultural roots, finding spiritual direction through Zen Buddhism and inner cultivation.
