Ma Yongqiang, born in 1971 in Yantai, Shandong Province, China, graduated from the Printmaking Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He is one of the leading figures in contemporary Chinese art, known for his distinctive artistic language that merges realism and surrealism.
